The Balor Arts Centre, Ballybofey is holding auditions for its new summer musical The Hit Factory.
The summer youth musical has been an incredibly popular fixture in the Balor calendar since the 2016 production of Grease. Further shows including Hairspray, All Shook Up and Footloose have thrilled audiences and shone a spotlight on the abundance of young local talent.
This is a huge year for The Balor Summer Musical as it’s the first one since 2019 due to Covid-19.
“It’s fantastic to have once again the musical to look forward to. Summer just wasn’t the same without it. A lot of our stalwarts from previous years have moved on to college since 2019 so this is a great opportunity for the next wave of young talent to have their moment on the stage,” according to director Caroline Bell.
The Hit Factory is an original story with many popular 60s tracks such as Tina Turner's River Deep Mountain High, Big Yellow Taxi by Joni Mitchell and the Elvis classic If I Can Dream.
Auditions will take place on Wednesday next, June 28 at 1pm in the Balor Arts Centre, Ballybofey. They’re open to anybody who will be starting secondary school next year or older.
