Drumboe Avenue "a racing track" claims Cllr Patrick McGowan

Drumboe Avenue, Stranorlar

Drumboe Avenue in Stranorlar was " a racing track" according to local councillor, Patrick McGowan.

He was speaking during a debate on the reduction of speed limits during Monday's Lifford-Stranorlar Municipal District meeting.

He asked what the up-to-date position was in relation to the review.

"Where are we at, are there any recommendations? I want a speed limit reduction for Drumboe Avenue in Stranorlar down to 30kph as it's still a racing track and people are complaining about it."

Senior roads engineer Claire McGeever said she would seek a report for the councillors from the road design team looking after the review.

"All the assessments have been carried out on the ground and all the public consultations are complete so I can seek an update and circulate it," she said.
