Members of the Musical Memories singing group making a huge donation to Greencastle Community Centre.
A recent ‘Musical Memories’ fundraising concert in Greencastle has helped to raise an impressive €5,400 for good causes.
The concert, which featured Patsy Cavanagh, the Inishowen Gateway Singers, Moville Community College students, Charles James and the Rise, as well as the Musical Memories Choir, was held at Greencastle Community Centre on May 9 last.
The proceeds of the packed-out event, which was compered by Mickey Doherty, are now being split equally between the Greencastle Community Centre and the Alzheimer’s Society of Ireland, with each receiving cheques for €2,700.
The Greencastle Community Centre has issued a “huge, heartfelt thank you” to the Musical Memories singing group for its incredible act of generosity.
On Wednesday, May 21, members of the group, including Pat Faulkner, Marian McDonald, Katrina McGroarty, Marion, and Margaret Lafferty, dropped in to present centre manager Susan McAleer with a cheque for €2,700, which was gratefully accepted.
“We are absolutely thrilled and deeply grateful for this wonderful contribution from the Musical Memories singing group,” said Susan.
“They bring so much joy and connection to our community every week, and this funding will greatly support our ongoing work.”
The Musical Memories group hosts weekly singing sessions at Greencastle Community Centre, enriching the lives of attendees through the power of music.
Susan says the donation of an additional €2,700 to the Alzheimer's Society further demonstrates the group's “commitment to supporting vital community causes.”
