Michelle Nic Grianna of award-winning Barrscéalta
Barrscéalta of RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta has won the Celtic Media Festival 2025 Torc Award for Excellence in the Entertainment Sound category.
The show, which is broadcast from na Doirí Beaga, won the award at a ceremony in Newquay, Wales.
Dónall Mac Ruairí, who had previously produced the programme, accepted the award on behalf of the show at the ceremony. The programme’s current producer is Conor Ó Gallachóir.

The Torc Awards for Excellence are annually presented at the Celtic Media Festival, celebrating the talent in the media industries in minority languages from the Celtic nations and regions.
Barrscéalta presenter, Michelle Nic Grianna had previously been twice awarded Radio Presenter of the Year at the Celtic Media Festival, and RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta won Station of the Year in 2023.
The programme is broadcast from Monday to Friday from 11 am until 12 pm, covering topics of interest to Donegal people both at home and abroad.
