Barnesmore Gap
Donegal County Council has invited residents to public consultations regarding the proposed route of the Barnesmore Gap Greenway project.
The project, which involves the proposed provision of a Greenway between Donegal Town and Ballybofey/Stranorlar, has entered Phase 3 of the project, which involves design and environmental evaluation.
A public consultation will be held at The Abbey Hotel in Donegal Town on June 11 from 12 pm to 8 pm, followed by a second public consultation at Jackson’s Hotel in Ballybofey the following evening, at the same scheduled hours.
Donegal County Council is also inviting submissions online from those unable to attend the public consultation. A feedback form will be access online at the dedicated project website from June 6 until June 27.
The project team can also be contacted via telephone on 074 97 24500 from Monday to Friday at 9 am until 4 pm, by email on design@dnrdo.ie, or by post at National Roads Office, Drumlonagher, Donegal Town, Donegal.

A statement from Donegal County Council read: “Through further options assessments, one-to-one landowner meetings and environmental surveys, the preferred route for the greenway has been identified.
“The purpose of this public consultation is to inform the public of this Preferred Route and to invite feedback.”
