Mary Kennedy returns to host fourth series of Moving West

TG4, along with the Western Development Commission (WDC), are inviting individuals, groups, organisations, and businesses from Donegal to apply to be featured in the latest season of Moving West.

Hosted by Mary Kennedy, TG4 and the WDC have announced the return for a fourth series of the popular television show.

Following three previous series, the show continues to highlight the people and projects shaping life across the West of Ireland, from community-driven initiatives and cultural preservation to pioneering rural enterprises and forward-thinking solutions to regional challenges.

In the third series of Moving West, the Donegal-based episode featured Teresa Mullaney and her husband Noel, who were living in Monaghan before moving to the Fanad Peninsula, where Teresa worked as a tour guide in Fanad Lighthouse.

Produced by Dundara Television and Media, this year’s series will put the spotlight on Donegal, Sligo, Leitrim, Mayo, Roscommon, Galway, and Clare, celebrating the rich tapestry of their heritage, the strength of their communities, and the bold innovation driving their future.

TG4 and the WDC said they were especially interested in the stories of movers, those who have chosen to build a life in Donegal, bringing energy and perspective to Donegal’s town’s and communities, whether you are revitalising local heritage, leading a community project, driving innovation in a rural enterprise, or building a better future through creativity and collaboration.

Returning host, Mary Kennedy, commented: “This series is a heartfelt celebration of the people and places that make Ireland’s western counties so special.

“I’m honoured to return as host and to share these uplifting stories of resilience, pride, and creativity.”

Allan Mulrooney, CEO of TG4, said: “Across the West and Northwest, communities are stepping up with passion, pride, and creativity to shape a vibrant future rooted in place.

“We are proud to support a series that not only celebrates these incredible efforts but also inspires others to see the potential in their own localities.”

Those wishing to apply to appear on the show, or to nominate someone to appear, can do so at dundaraproductions.ie/movingwest.

The deadline to apply is Friday, August 15 at 5pm.
