Donegal Town ESB substation suffers criminal damage in attempted break-in

ESB Station in Donegal Town was criminally damaged

An ESB Substation was criminally damaged in an attempted break-in at Donegal Town.

The incident occurred on the Ballybofey Road, with the steel railings at the station being cut and bent, although entry was not gained to the main building and nothing was stolen.

It is thought that the incident happened between midnight on Monday, July 21, and 9pm on Sunday, July 27. 

Gardaí are investigating the incident. A statement from Gardaí read: “We appeal to anyone who may have observed suspicious activity in that area between those dates to contact Gardai in Ballyshannon on 071 9858530.
