Donegal County Council grants planning permission for 15 Letterkenny apartments

Donegal County Council has given planning permission for the construction of two apartment complexes totalling 15 apartments in Letterkenny. 

Planning permission was given with 24 conditions for the construction of two residential buildings consisting of six two-bed apartments in the first building and nine two-bed apartments in the second building, with onsite car parking and all ancillary works with connection to all existing services.

The development is to be located on College Farm Road, on the Glencar Road in the west of Letterkenny.

Developers are to contribute a total of €30,370.65 in respect of public infrastructure and facilities benefitting development in the area of the Planning Authority that was already provided or was intended to be provided by the Authority.

Furthermore, before the development is commenced, the developer is to provide adequate security in the amount of €75,000 to the Planning Authority to ensure satisfactory completion of the development. 

The site has been the subject of various planning applications before. The current applicant, PJ McDermott, withdrew an application for four two-storey buildings comprising eight apartments in 2023.
