Bundoran Community Centre names former councillor as new manager

Barry Sweeny will begin new role at Bundoran on Monday, August 11

Former Donegal County Councillor, Barry Sweeny, has been named the new manager of Bundoran Community Centre, starting on Monday, August 11.

The directors of Bundoran Community Centre said they were delighted with the announcement of Mr Sweeny as the centre’s new manager.

Mr Sweeny, who lost his council seat for Donegal Municipal District in the 2024 Local Elections, takes over from Danielle Carty, who has left Bundoran Community Centre to take up the position of Membership and Operations Manager with the Social Enterprise Republic of Ireland (S.E.R.I).

“Barry’s past experience as a community volunteer working with many diverse organisations, local artist, former county councillor and heritage member will be invaluable in promoting the ethos and objectives of the centre.

“The directors, staff, volunteers and all the stakeholders all join in with wishing Barry continuing the great work of the centre.”
