Water levels remain low at Lough Colmcille
Uisce Éireann has issued an appeal to Donegal residents to conserve and protect their water supply due to low water levels.
Their appeal is aimed in particular at customers from Milford, Letterkenny, Downings, Carrigart, Fanad, Ramelton, and Rathmullan, as well as the surrounding areas.
In Milford, a Water Conservation Order remains in place as water levels remain under severe pressure at Lough Colmcille.
Elsewhere, water restrictions are continuing overnight for customers supplied by the Downings Water Treatment Plant.

Uisce Éireann’s John Gallagher commented: “Low rainfall levels over a prolonged period of time, coupled with an increase in demand for water, have put pressure on supplies across Donegal, and high usage can lead to pressure reductions which can impact the supply to customers.
“I am appealing to all our customers to make a special effort to conserve water. I’m asking them to consider their water usage and reflect on the daily and easy actions they can take to play their part in ensuring our water resources are used wisely and in a way which benefits not only your own household but also the wider community.”
