Planning permission sought for Letterkenny padel centre facility

Padel has soared in popularity in recent years

Planning permission has been sought for the development of a padel court facility outside of Letterkenny.

Padel is a racket sport played in an enclosed court, with the same scoring system as tennis, but with different rules, strokes, and equipment. The sport originated in Mexico, but has long been popular in countries like Spain and Brazil.

Myr Developments Ltd submitted their planning application to Donegal County Council, which will see the change of use of one building unit, from a warehouse to a padel court facility with associated ancillary works.

Donegal County Council has yet to announce a decision due date for the application.
