Planning permission has been sought from Donegal County Council by Glenswilly National School for the construction of a sports pitch, associated flood lights and ball stops, together with all other site development.

The school, whose famous alumni include Michael Murphy and the late rally driver Manus Kelly, aims to provide improved sporting facilities for its students and the local community.

In recent years, Glenswilly National School won its first Donegal Sports Star award for Best Sports School. 

Rosin Kelly, the Chairperson of the Board of Management, on behalf of Glenswilly National School, is the listed applicant for the planning permission application.

Donegal County Council has set a decision due date for November 4.
