Properties in Donegal saw a rise in average sale prices in previous year
Central Statistics Office (CSO) data has shown that average property sale prices in Donegal have increased by around 10% across the county in the previous 12 months.
Average property sale prices for eircodes in Donegal, Letterkenny, and Lifford all rose in the last year, with Lifford seeing the highest increase of the three Donegal-based eircodes.
Lifford’s average property sale prices rose by 10.22% from July 2024 until July 2025, compared to Donegal’s 9.99% and Letterkenny’s 9.56%.
All three Donegal eircodes had a higher rise in average property sale prices than the national average, which stood at 9.15% from July 2024 until July 2025.

Letterkenny had the highest average property sale price in July 2025, adding up to an average of €236,828 per sale, followed by Donegal at €226,733, and Lifford at €190,659.
The national average property sale price in July 2025 was €422,426.
Lifford’s average property sale price in July 2025 was the fifth lowest eircode in the country. The eircode with the cheapest average property sale price in the country was Castlerea at €162,659, followed by Ballyhaunis, Cootehill, and Clones.
The eircode with the highest national property sale price in the country was the Dublin 4 region, at €954,329.
