The Cope premises in Burtonport
The former Burtonport Welcome Centre, also known as The Cope, has been put up for sale via online auction, with a guide price of €100,000.
Campbells Auctioneers are facilitating the sale via the iamsold.ie bidding platform.
Advertised as a commercial property, with over 350 square metres of retail space, the property boasts a newly installed PVC roof, which comes with a 20-year warranty from 2024, and a recently installed commercial shop-line aluminium double-glazed windows and doors.
In August 2025, the property was subject to two planning permission applications to Donegal County Council, for a development that will consist of the conversion of the former commercial building into three domestic dwellings, along with associated site works, and connection to existing services.

The first planning application submitted was ruled as an incomplete application, but the application was resubmitted a fortnight later by the listed applicant, PJ O’Boyle.
At the site on the R260 road, the planned development would have two two-bedroom apartments and a one-bedroom apartment.
Donegal County Council had set a decision due date for the planning application for October 16.
The property had also been put on sale in 2022, with a €70,000 price tag.
