Donegal focused film, Galar, will be showcased at the Donegal Bay Film Festival
The Festival Co-Director of the Donegal Bay Film Festival said the festival can allow filmmakers to “be the voice of Donegal.”
Eclipse Cinemas in Bundoran will host the Donegal Bay Film Festival on October 1 and 2, as part of the Donegal Bay and Bluestacks Festival.
This year’s programme celebrates the very best of Irish short filmmaking, including award-winning and Oscar-qualifying films as well as a powerful series of Northwest shorts that shine a spotlight on local talent, landscapes, and stories.
Both days will have split focuses, with the first day focused on the National Shorts Programme - Best in Show, and the second day focused on the Northwest Film Programme.

The festival co-directors for this year’s event are Caroline Harvey and Collie Mac Pháidín. Caroline told Donegal Live: “There are a lot of creatives in Bundoran. It is a great hub as there are a lot of people coming and going, and a lot of filmmakers.
“There are a lot of creative arts in the area. There are enough people interested in the arts, so we have to make it a yearly thing.
“This year, we have two nights. It is all about the best in the show, the films that have done the best in Ireland, and are very socially engaging.
“It will be an amazing night, and there are films that punch way above their weight.
“The second night is only focused on North West filmmakers and stories that represent Donegal, the landscape, and all the social issues of the North West.
“It has a lot of emerging talented and established filmmakers, which is very exciting because it is great for the people of Donegal to know who their filmmakers are and know why they are telling their stories, and essentially be the voice of Donegal.”
Tickets can be bought online via the website of Eclipse Cinemas Bundoran.
