Morgan Architects, architects for the project, said the proposals aimed “to deliver high-quality homes and sustainable communities.”

Furthermore, Morgan Architects said the variety of properties proposed in the development would lead to “a varying range of occupancy profiles where diversity and integration will be encouraged by way of quality public spaces and good links with the local community and amenities.”

The planning application is an extension of previous construction and applications at the site at Flax Fields, which first received planning permission from Donegal County Council in 2003, for 94 homes to be built. Moreover, in 2006, permission was granted for the construction of a childcare facility, extra parking, and an external play area.

Donegal County Council has yet to announce a decision due date for the proposals.
