Biddy's O'Barnes will host charity Halloween night

Biddy’s O’Barnes will host a spook-tacular Halloween storytelling event on October 31, with proceeds being donated to the Cleary Centre Comfort Fund.

The event, which will be held from 9pm until 11pm, and has been organised by international storyteller and writer, Ted Hall.

Hall will be joined by local writer, guide, and international storyteller, Keith Corcoran, and guide, storyteller and blacksmith to the fairy host, Charlie Gallagher.

When speaking to Donegal Live, Hall said: “The event is a charitable event organised to help the Cleary Centre Comfort Fund in Donegal Town.

“It is in connection with Mary Gorman of the Cleary Centre. I suggested that we have a storytelling evening for Halloween and raise money. It will be a storytelling with Keith Corcoran, Charlie Gallagher, and me, who will be telling stories based on Halloween, ghost and fairy stories. It is a free event. We have a raffle as well with a lot of prizes on offer, sponsored by businesses from Donegal Town.

“Hopefully, we will get a good turnout and help support the Cleary Centre. I will also be offering my published books, and 50% of whatever I make on the books will be donated to the centre.”

When asked about why the popular Barnesmore Gap pub was chosen as the venue for the event, Hall commented: “Biddy’s O’ Barnes was recommended when I discussed the idea. Keith Corcoran suggested Biddy’s O’ Barnes and told stories there on occasion, and he said it will be a great venue.

“I would like to emphasise that I could not organise this event without the support of Keith Corcoran and Charlie Gallagher, who made the event possible with their support behind it.”
