Donegal County Council grants planning permission for Ballintra properties

Plans for new residential accommodation in Ballintra have been granted planning permission by Donegal County Council.

Conditional planning permission was given for the demolition of an existing dwelling house and for the construction of two three-bedroom houses, with connection to all main services and all ancillary/associated site development works. 

Main Street, within Ballintra, is the proposed site for the project, near Ballintra’s Garda Station.  

Previous applications had been submitted for the site in 2006 and 2012, both of which involved the construction of two four-bedroom houses.

Donegal County Council granted permission to the application with 12 conditions, including a condition that the developers pays an adequate security of €5,000 to the Planning Authority for provision and completion of all services required by the development, in the form of a bond of a banking or insurance company acceptable to the Planning Authority, a cash deposit, or any other security that the council may approve.

Another condition was set that the applicant shall pay a contribution of €2,699.07 in respect of public infrastructure and facilities benefitting development in the area of the Planning Authority that is already provided or is intended will be provided by the Authority.
