Uisce Éireann advises of overnight water restrictions in Pettigo

Uisce Éireann warns of Pettigo water restrictions

Residents in Pettigo are facing overnight water restrictions after Uisce Éireann said that restrictions were “necessary” to “allow reservoir levels replenish.”

A communication by Uisce Éireann read: “As a result of a mechanical issue being experienced with water pumps in the supply area, reservoir levels have fallen.

“The restrictions will be in place from 10.30pm tonight (Monday) to 7am tomorrow (Tuesday) morning to resolve the issues and to allow the local reservoir levels recharge.”

Damien O’Sullivan of Uisce Éireann said: “We acknowledge the inconvenience caused by nighttime restrictions such as this, but we want to assure affected customers that this measure is absolutely essential in order to preserve a full daytime supply for homes and businesses.

“Customers can help conserve water by not running taps needlessly, taking showers instead of baths and postponing using dishwashers and washing machines where possible. Customers can also find useful water-saving tips on our website www.water.ie/conserve. This also includes an easy-to-use conservation calculator so you can work out how much water you are currently saving and how to conserve even more.”
