Proposed site in Lismonaghan
Donegal County Council has received a planning permission application for the development of a 20-property estate to the south of Letterkenny.
A company named Wolf Real Estate Ltd has submitted the application for a half-hectare site in Lismonaghan, off Glenview Close.
The planned development involves the construction of 20 residential units, of which 12 four-bed and three-bed dwellings are formed as six semi-detached units, an apartment building containing eight apartments formed as four two-bedroom apartments and four one-bedroom apartments, and the development of an internal access roadway, bin storage sheds, bike stands, pedestrian footpaths, open space and boundary treatments, connection to all main services and associated site development works.
Demolition of an existing dwelling and two sheds is included in the submitted proposals.

McCullough Architecture and Surveying, which prepared the design statement, stated: “The vision for the development is to provide a high-quality residential community that responds to the existing built environment, but that has its own character.
“The development has been designed to be sympathetic to the surrounding context. The site is appropriate for a residential development of this scale and is well-situated to allow for connectivity to the town centre and local amenities.
“The development has been designed to provide sustainable, well-designed, low-energy, low-maintenance homes, which will be set within a high-quality landscaped public realm.”
Previously, the site was subject to planning proposals in 2007 and 2013 for the construction of 20 dwellings, and Donegal County Council granted conditional planning approvals for those applications.
Donegal County Council have announced a decision due date for the application for Thursday, 26 March.
