Motorist fined for failing to display a valid parking ticket on three occasions
A Donegal Town resident has been fined a total of €330 plus €414 in costs, for parking without a valid parking ticket on the same street on three separate occasions.
Habiba Arinoro, 37 Orchard Drive, Donegal Town, was found to be the owner of a motor vehicle parked in a parking place without displaying a valid parking ticket in the manner required by Article 7(1) of the Donegal County Council (Parking Places) Bye-Laws, 2004, being contrary to Article 7(1)(f) of the said Bye-Laws and Section 36(8) of the Road Traffic Act 1994.
The defendant was not present at Donegal District Court at Ballyshannon Courthouse, and Judge Éiteáin Cunningham was satisfied to proceed in his absence.

All three incidents occurred at Tirchonaill Street, Donegal Town, on June 20, 2025, followed by an incident on July 9, 2025, and finally on August 1, 2025.
For the first incident, Judge Cunningham fined Arinoro €80 plus costs of €138. Judge Cunningham then fined Arinoro €100 plus costs of €138, before concluding by fining Arinoro €150 plus costs of €138, meaning Arinoro was fined a combined €330 and costs of €414.
Arinoro was given four months to pay the fines and ordered costs by Judge Cunningham.
