Television star visited restaurant as part of 'Dermot's Taste of Ireland' series

Donegal Town’s Chandpur Indian Restaurant shared their “incredible honour” in welcoming broadcaster and presenter, Dermot O’Leary.

The presenter was in Ireland in March to film a second series of his show, Dermot's Taste of Ireland, on ITV, which has reached over 3.3 million viewers in Britain. The ten-part series, produced by Rock Oyster Media and supported through the Shared Island Tourism Brand Collaboration Project, will air on ITV1 and on the streaming service ITVX next spring.

O’Leary, born in Colchester to Wexford parents and a former presenter of The X Factor, had also visited Letterkenny’s The Lemon Tree in 2025 as part of filming for the upcoming series.

An online post by Chandpur Indian Restaurant read: “We have some very exciting news to share.

“On March 16, our restaurant had the incredible honour of welcoming Rock Oyster Media Productions for filming as part of Dermot O’Leary’s Taste of Ireland Season Two.”

Chandpur Indian Restaurant said they were “beyond proud to announce” that they were to be featured in Episode 8 of the series, to be broadcast on June 20, 2026.

Their statement continued: “It was a truly special day as Dermot and his team visited and filmed with Rana, our owner and award-winning Chef, right here in beautiful Donegal Town.

“Being selected to take part in such a popular television series is a huge privilege, and we're so grateful for the opportunity to showcase our restaurant and what we love to do.”
