Two women die in Twin Towns collision

Two women in their twenties have been killed in a road collision near Ballybofey.

The women died in a single vehicle collision when the car they were travelling in left the road on a corner.

The accident occurred on the R252 around 4.30 pm, less than 1km from Jackson’s Hotel on the Glenfin Road.

A male in his twenties, who was also in the car, was taken to Letterkenny University Hospital with what gardaí have described as non-life threatening injuries.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to the accident to contact Letterkenny garda station on (074) 91 67100.

The accident comes less than two months after five people were killed on the county’s roads in a 24-hour period in two separate collisions, on the outskirts of Letterkenny.
