The draw for the Michael Murphy Sports and Leisure Donegal Senior Championship semi-finals takes place on Sunday evening, in Ballybofey.
The draw will be made immediately after the quarter-final meeting of Naomh Conaill and St Eunan’s, in MacCumhaill Park.
The two semi-finals are pencilled for the following weekend Saturday October 1st/Sunday October 2nd. This means if any of this weekend’s quarter-finals ends in a draw the replay will be played midweek, on either Tuesday or Wednesday night.
This was confirmed by Declan Martin, secretary of the Donegal CCC, who also confirmed that the CCC were considering playing one of the semi-finals on the Saturday, the day of the All-Ireland final replay meeting of Dublin and Mayo, which has a throw-in time of 5 pm.
“We are looking at playing one the semi-finals early Saturday, before the All-Ireland or after it on Saturday night,” Martin told the Democrat.
“We have made no decision on the matter but those are the options we are considering,” the CCC official added.
The second semi-final is due to be played on the Sunday with the county final fixed for Sunday, October 16th.
The semi-final draws in the Murphy Sports and Leisure Intermediate, Senior B and Intermediate B Championship are also due to be made on Sunday evening in Ballybofey.
The Intermediate semi-finals, like the senior, are also pencilled in for next weekend, Saturday and Sunday. The Intermediate final is the following Sunday, October 9th.
