A public meeting is set to take place in Dunfanaghy on Wednesday evening, October 12th, with a view to setting up a text alert system in the area.
It will take place in the Ozanam Centre at 8pm and all are welcome.
Members of An Garda Siochana will attend the meeting as well as representatives from other areas where similar text alert systems are already established.
The event will be chaired by local community activist, Michael McClafferty, who says the text system could be useful for both crime prevention and in cases of a medical emergency.
