A status yellow rainfall warning has been issued for Counties Donegal, Leitrim, Sligo, Longford, Cavan, Galway, Roscommon, Clare, Cork, Kerry and Limerick.
Accumulations of 25mm to 35mm of rainfall are expected to fall in the next few hours.
The rain warning is valid until 7pm this evening.
