Kilcar €30,094 lottery prize goes unclaimed

Byrne's Foodstore, Kilcar, where the ticket was bought

A €30,094 lotto win from a ticket bought in Kilcar has gone unclaimed.

The prize had to be claimed by Friday last, September 7th, but sadly no one showed up or made the claim, a spokesperson for the National Lottery told the Democrat.

The lotto ticket was bought in Byrne's Foodstore, Kilcar and there was widespread local speculation as to who the winner might be, but as the deadline approached, and no one emerged to collect or claim the prize, fears grew that the prize might never be claimed.

Miriam Donohoe of the National Lottery confirmed tot he Democrat that the €30,094 prize remained unclaimed as the 90 day deadline was reached on Friday:

“We are very disappointed that the winner of this prize has not come forward, despite an intensive local and national media campaign.

“We remind all our players once again to always check your tickets when you play one of our draws, and to always keep tickets in a safe place. We do not like when prizes go unclaimed and to see our players lose out.”
