Donegal jockey Patrick Luke McAteer and, inset, Patrick McGettigan
Luke McAteer landed a huge treble at Dundalk on Friday night, while Patrick McGettigan was back in the winner’s enclosure at Bellewstown.
McAteer was in flying form on Friday, taking three wins from just four rides at the Louth racecourse.
The Rathmullan jockey got off to a winning start on 11/4 shot Jered Maddox, winning by a head in the second race of the meeting.
He landed a quick double in the following race, taking the win on 7/4 favourite Allsortz in another close finish, winning by a neck.
McAteer was then fifth on Caoilte, but he returned to winning ways on his least fancied ride of the night, winning on 22/1 shot Golddream by a short head from favourite Golden Premiere.
All four rides were for trainer David Marnane.

McAteer was back in action in Bellewstown on Saturday but didn’t have the same successes, although it was a good day for Patrick McGettigan.
The Ballyare youngster had four rides and picked up a win on 11/4 favourite Bay Of Supremacy for trainer and former jockey Johnny Murtagh.
Both jockeys have rides at the Leopardstown meeting today.
