Gardaí seek SUV with Northern Ireland plates after hit and run near Muff

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contasct Buncrana garda station on 074-9320540

A motorist has been hospitalised after a hit and run collision close to the border near Muff.

The collision between a white Audi and a blue Volvo SUV, both with Northern Irish plates, occurred on the R239 at Sappagh, Muff on June 24 at around 7.40pm. 

Both vehicles were travelling towards Muff from the Burnfoot direction when the collision occurred. 

The driver of the Volvo left the area in the direction of Burnfoot  immediately after the collision.

The driver of the white Audi was taken by ambulance to Letterkenny University Hospital  where they received medical treatment for non-life threatening injuries. 

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact Buncrana garda station on 074-9320540. 

Anyone who travelled along that stretch of road between 7.15pm and 8pm on that date with a dashcam is asked to please make the footage available to gardaí.
