Investigation into unhealthy Crana River fish

An investigation is underway after several salmon have become ill in Buncrana.

Several people have reported the sickly looking fish on the Crana River to Inland Fisheries Ireland (IFI). It is expected that the salmon will be taken out of the water and taken to a laboratory to undergo tests to determine the exact cause of their illness.

A spokesperson for IFI has confirmed that they were contacted by some concerned members of the public and are now investigating the unhealthy fish. "Inland Fisheries Ireland(IFI) has received a report about a small number of fish at the Crana River.

"IFI is following up on this report and seeking more information."
