Inishowen Development Partnership (IDP) will officially open the doors to its new temporary office on Buncrana’s Main Street next week.

The organisation is relocating on Tuesday, August 26 to the former post office building, offering a more central and accessible location for the public.

The organisation says the move ensures that it remains at the heart of the community, continuing to provide vital services and supports across employment, social inclusion, education, sustainability, and community development.

IDP’s current office on St Mary’s Road, Buncrana, will close on Friday, August 22 to facilitate the move. The new office at 12 Upper Main Street will be closed to the public on Monday,  August 25.

A spokesperson for IDP said the central location in the heart of Buncrana will ensure IDP remains highly accessible to the public.

“Our move to the former Post Office keeps us close to the community we serve and it allows our staff and programme partners to continue delivering supports without interruption,” said IDP.

“Last year we welcomed almost 4,000 individuals through our doors and we want to continue to help as many people and groups as possible in 2025.”

IDP’s move to the former post office in Buncrana is a temporary measure as the organisation prepares to design and construct a new purpose-built facility at Ferris Lane.

“The new building will give Inishowen a modern, dynamic hub that reflects the scale and ambition of our work whilst also creating a modern, eco-friendly, inclusive and welcoming hub,” said IDP.

But for now, people are encouraged to call in and visit the new office and learn more about upcoming programmes and events that will be taking place there.

“We are very lucky to have secured such a central location as the former Post Office and we are looking forward to life on the Main Street,” added IDP.
