A pensioner has been hospitalised following a house fire in Buncrana.
The incident at the two-storey house on Maginn Avenue occurred yesterday evening, September 3rd, at approximately 5:00pm. Emergency services attended the scene, and the fire was extinguished quickly.
The man, aged in his 70s, was transferred to Letterkenny University Hospital as a precaution following the fire.
The one-way street known locally as the ‘Pound Lane’ was closed for a short period of time following the house fire which occurred across the road from the Primary Care Centre.

A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána confirmed that “Gardaí assisted emergency services at a fire at a residential property in Buncrana, at approximately 5:00pm on 3rd of September.”
No other injuries were reported in the incident, and enquiries are ongoing.
