The new bus will be officially launched in Carndonagh on November 10.

Spraoi agus Spórt says it’s delighted to announce the launch of a new accessible bus, which will make a real difference to the lives of families and children with disabilities across Inishowen.

The launch will be celebrated with a special event on Monday, November 10 at 1pm at Unit 6 SuperValu, Carndonagh (F93 AY6D), officiated by Minister of State Charlie McConalogue and blessed by Carn PP Fr Con McLaughlin.

This new bus will allow children, young people, and adults with additional needs to travel safely and comfortably to activities, therapies, and community events. It means more people can take part, connect with others, and enjoy greater independence.

“This bus will make a real, practical difference to our families,” said Helen Nolan, CEO of Spraoi agus Spórt.

“For many, transport has been a major challenge. Thanks to the generosity of our community, local sponsors, and government support, we can now provide accessible travel that helps everyone feel included,” she added.

Helen said the bus has been made possible through the Department of Rural and Community Development’s CLÁR Programme, along with the amazing generosity of the ‘All Aboard’ community fundraiser supporters and main sponsors: Simpson’s Bar & Restaurant, Doherty’s Costcutter, Inishowen Co-Operative Society, Forward Emphasis, Malin Electrical, and Doherty’s SuperValu Carndonagh.

“We are deeply grateful to everyone who donated, sponsored, and supported our All Aboard campaign,” she added. “This project truly shows what can happen when a community comes together. It’s an investment in inclusion, connection, and brighter futures for our children.”

Spraoi agus Spórt warmly invites everyone in the community to come along to the launch and celebrate this exciting milestone together on November 10.
