Sinéad Smyth’s exhibition, a bheith ann (“to be there”), is running until November 30 at Artlink, Fort Dunree
Artist Sinéad Smyth is hosting a hands-on drawing workshop in Dunree inspired by her exhibition, a bheith ann (“to be there”), later this month.
The event will begin with a short walk on the beach at Port Bán, beside Fort Dunree, where participants will gather natural and found materials – driftwood, fishing rope, horsehair and more.
Back in the gallery, participants will transform their finds into unique, handmade drawing tools, then explore expressive, experimental mark-making inspired by their surroundings and materials.

No experience needed to take part, just curiosity and a willingness to play and explore.
The motto for the event is: “Come and ‘be there’ – create, connect, and discover new ways of drawing with the world around you.”
The workshop is taking place on November 22 from 11am to 2:30pm, meeting at Port Bán beach, next to Fort Dunree. Tickets are available at https://www.ticketsource.com/artlink.
