More than one hundred set to brave the chill for Malin Head St Stephen’s Day swim

The annual Malin Head charity swim is back on December 26, with all proceeds going to the Malin Parish First Responders.

The Malin Head Community Association is delighted to announce the return of the much-loved Malin Head sponsored swim, which will take place this St Stephen’s Day, Friday, December 26.

This year’s event will raise vital funds for the Malin Parish First Responders, a new volunteer group established to help save lives within the local area.

The annual festive swim has become a firm favourite in the community calendar, attracting increasing numbers of swimmers and dippers each year.

More than one hundred hardy bathers took to the water last year, and organisers are hoping for an even bigger turnout in 2025.

The exact swim time will be confirmed closer to the day, once the tides are assessed to ensure the safest and most enjoyable conditions for participants.

After the dip, swimmers and supporters are welcome to warm up with hot drinks provided by the committee. Thanks to the generous support of Kilbeggan Whiskey, there will also be hot toddies available to further take the chill off.

Sponsor sheets can be picked up locally at: Seaview Stores; Mullins Shop; and Farrens Bar. They can also be emailed directly – simply send a request to info@malinheadcommunity.ie.

For those who prefer to support the cause online, an iDonate page is now live, making it easy for anyone near or far to contribute.

Every euro raised will go directly towards equipping and training the Malin Parish First Responders, helping ensure the team is fully prepared once operational.

The Malin Head Community Association encourages everyone to get involved – swim, dip, donate, or simply cheer on the brave participants – as the community comes together once again in support of this lifesaving initiative.
