Buncrana community dives In for RNLI at annual Christmas swim

The Ned’s Point swimmers held their annual coffee morning at O’Flaherty’s in Buncrana which was in aid of Lough Swilly RNLI.

The annual Buncrana Christmas Swim, organised by The Point Swimmers, proved to be a tremendous success this Christmas Day, raising vital funds for Lough Swilly RNLI.

Braving the winter waters at Ned’s Point, swimmers of all ages once again demonstrated the strong community spirit for which Buncrana is renowned. The festive event has become a much-loved Christmas tradition, drawing participants and spectators together in support of an essential local rescue service.

In addition to the swim, The Point Swimmers also organised a well-attended coffee morning in O’Flaherty’s Bar, where swimmers, families, and supporters gathered somewhere drier and warmer to catch up, and enjoy the festive atmosphere while raising vital funds.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of all involved, a fantastic total of €3,450 was raised. The proceeds were donated to Lough Swilly RNLI, a vital local service that provides lifesaving assistance along the coastline. The RNLI has expressed sincere gratitude for the continued support and generosity shown by the Buncrana community.
