The Whole School Guidance team invited professionals to attend from a wide range of industries.
The day provided an invaluable opportunity for students to gain real-world insight into life beyond school. A particularly special aspect of this year’s event was that many of the guest speakers were past pupils of Mulroy College.
Seeing former students return in professional roles was both motivating and reassuring for current students. It gave them a powerful sense of what is possible and showed that successful and varied career paths can begin right here in the school community.
The diversity of sectors represented was particularly impressive. From healthcare and engineering to business, technology, agriculture and public service, students were able to explore career paths they may never have previously considered.
Each guest speaker brought not only expertise but also personal stories, sharing honest accounts of their educational journeys, career challenges, and the lessons they learned along the way.
What made the event especially impactful was the format, students had the chance to engage directly with professionals. This allowed for meaningful conversations, thoughtful questions, and practical advice tailored to students who are currently making important decisions about college courses, apprenticeships, and future ambitions.
The guests were generous with their time, they spoke about the realities of their industries, the qualifications required, the day-to-day responsibilities, the opportunities for progression, and even the setbacks they experienced.
The returning past pupils added an extra layer of inspiration. They spoke about sitting in the classrooms of Mulroy College and facing the same decisions that current students are now making.
Their stories made future ambitions feel more attainable and real. Feedback from students and staff has been overwhelmingly positive. A sincere thank you must go to the guests who gave their time to support students.
Their willingness to invest in the next generation made the day not only informative but genuinely inspiring. Overall, the Careers Fair was a great success, an engaging, practical, and empowering experience that will undoubtedly influence students’ future decisions in a meaningful way.
The Whole School Guidance team in Mulroy College would like to thank all staff and students for their involvement.
