Popular Inishowen preschool scraps fees to help celebrate its 30th birthday

There will be a Lá Oscailte [Open Day] at Naíonra Bun Cranncha on Saturday 14th February from 11am-1pm.

A long-running and successful Buncrana preschool is giving the community a very special free gift to celebrate a landmark birthday: Zero fees for parents!

The 2026/27 registration period is now open at Naíonra Bun Cranncha, and it will be a remarkable year ahead for everyone at the trusted early years education facility, which is based at Cloncool Park.

A spokesperson explained: “We will be celebrating our 30th birthday, serving our community in Buncrana and Inishowen with the highest standard of Irish and bilingual preschool education.”

“With that in mind, we would like to give something back to the whole community who have supported us for these 30 years, a present.”

“Therefore, we have decided that there will be NO FEES charged for the 2026/27 school year, starting this coming September. Parents’ co-payment will be €0.00. This is our way of saying thank you,” they added.

This is not the only change coming to Naíonra Bun Cranncha this September, as the spokesperson further explained.

“Through the years, we have completed many extensions, gained a beautiful balcony play area, an orchard, and lowered our age of intake to two years old.”

“So in September 2026, we are taking the final step and lowering the intake age to 1 year old. Spaces will be limited, so be quick,” they have advised.

Meanwhile, there will be a Lá Oscailte [Open Day] on Saturday 14th February at the Naíonra from 11am-1pm. Come visit us and find out what all the hullabaloo is about.
