New Inishowen trails announced

Outdoor enthusiasts and tourists have even more reason to explore the Inishowen Peninsula this year, as Go Visit Inishowen has welcomed the launch of new trail networks and the accompanying Active Inishowen campaign.

Niall McCaughan, Manager of Go Visit Inishowen, described the initiative as “a major boost for tourism and outdoor recreation in the region.”

The campaign features a newly released promotional video, now live on Facebook and Instagram, showcasing three newly developed trail networks by Inishowen Trails. Alongside the video, the campaign has officially launched the new Active Inishowen webpage, designed to make it easier for visitors to plan walks and cycling trips across the peninsula.

“The development of these new trail networks is a hugely positive step for tourism in Inishowen. Outdoor activity tourism continues to grow in popularity, and these trails provide visitors and locals alike with more opportunities to explore our spectacular landscapes in an accessible and sustainable way,” Niall said.

“The new video produced is superb and shows this region at its best; it certainly is a walker’s paradise. The launch of the Active Inishowen platform makes it easier than ever for walkers of all levels to plan their visit and experience everything this beautiful peninsula has to offer.”

The campaign includes: Newly developed trail networks across Inishowen, direct navigation to the Active Inishowen webpage, A calendar of guided walking and cycling events, online booking information, and downloadable trail maps.

The Active Inishowen webpage acts as a central hub for outdoor enthusiasts, providing all the information needed to plan trips, discover new routes, and participate in organised activities throughout the year.

Go Visit Inishowen is working closely with Inishowen Trails to promote sustainable walking and cycling opportunities, supporting longer stays in the region and economic benefits for local businesses.

“Partnership is key to strengthening Inishowen’s tourism offering,” Niall added. “By working collaboratively with Inishowen Trails, we are ensuring that our natural assets are showcased responsibly while delivering real economic benefits to local businesses and communities.”
