Gardaí are on the scene of a road traffic collision near Buncrana tonight

Emergency services are at the scene of a road traffic collision on the main Buncrana-Carndonagh road tonight.

Gardaí, Fire Service personnel and their colleagues from the Ambulance Service arrived at the scene under blue lights following the collision, which occurred around 8pm on Sunday night on the R238 at Umricam.

Fire service personnel are understood to have assisted in removing an injured man from a vehicle involved in the collision.

Road diversions are in place and drivers can expect delays in the area, which is between Buncrana and Drumfries.
