A new youth facility is set to open its doors in Buncrana, with the launch of the Plaza Youth Club and Café, a state-of-the-art space designed to support and inspire young people in the area.

The grand opening will take place on Friday, March 20, with a series of events planned at the revamped Plaza premises, which continues to go from strength to strength following a devastating 2019 fire.

The new youth project has been designed, funded, and delivered by businessman Christopher Flanagan, with the aim of creating a modern, safe, and welcoming environment for local teens.

Promoted under the message ‘The youth are the future’, the facility provides a range of amenities tailored to young people’s interests.

The Opening Day will feature live coverage on Highland Radio, along with entertainment from a live pianist. Guests attending the event will also be offered free food and refreshments as part of the celebrations.

The new club includes a variety of features, such as gaming areas, comfortable social spaces, and recreational facilities, providing a hub for both relaxation and social interaction.

Organisers say the venue is intended to be an inclusive space, with all members of the community invited to attend tomorrow’s launch.

The grand opening marks a significant addition to youth services in Buncrana.
