Scores of homes left without water in the Moville area after another major burst

Exasperated homeowners urge Uisce Éireann to upgrade outdated water infrastructure following chronic outages in the Glencrow area

Scores of homes left without water in the Moville area after another major burst

Homeowners in the Glencrow and Mill Glen areas have been hit by yet ANOTHER burst, leaving scores of families without water.

Homeowners in the Moville area are once again facing water disruptions as repairs to a chronic burst water main impact supply in Mill Glen, Glencrow, and surrounding areas.

Uisce Éireann confirmed that works are scheduled to continue until 1pm on Monday, March 23, with customers advised to allow an additional three to four hours after restoration for normal service to fully return.

The latest outage has added to a growing sense of frustration among residents, who say interruptions have become a recurring issue in recent months.

Today’s outage marks the FOURTH incident in a relatively short period. Several homeowners have highlighted repeated disruptions over the years, noting that water supplies were previously cut off last June and July, as well as in January 2026.

Residents have expressed concern over the ongoing situation, questioning when a long-term solution will be implemented.

One homeowner described the issue as “perennial,” urging Uisce Éireann to take action to prevent further disruptions. Another resident pointed out how the supply had only recently been restored on January 22 before failing again today, March 22.

Affected households are calling for more reliable infrastructure and improved communication to reduce the impact of future outages.
