Onóir to headline Buncrana concert for two families undergoing medical treatment

Onóir, who are currently on tour around Ireland, will headline a special fundraising concert in Buncrana on Saturday 28 March

Popular Donegal folk and ballad group Onóir will headline a fundraising concert in Buncrana this weekend in aid of two Donegal families.

The group, who regularly sell out shows across Ireland, Britain and America, will perform a special concert at the Inishowen Gateway Hotel on Saturday, March 28. Proceeds will go towards supporting toddler Daibhin Curran and the McCrossan family, both from St Johnston.

Little Daibhin is receiving treatment in hospital in England
after being diagnosed with a serious heart condition earlier this year. In recent weeks, efforts have been ongoing to support the toddler, his parents Megan and Barry, and their wider family as they remain by his side during treatment.

The McCrossan family has also faced significant challenges, with both mother and son receiving serious diagnoses. Patrice McCrossan was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia in 2024. Just months later, her son Zach, who started primary school this year, was diagnosed with high-risk Myelodysplastic Syndromes (MDS), a rare blood disorder. He has since travelled to the Netherlands for treatment, where he received a bone marrow transplant.

Saturday’s concert aims to raise funds for both families and help ease the financial pressures associated with prolonged medical treatment.

The concert begins at 8pm on March 28, with tickets priced at €30.

Tickets are available from the Inishowen Gateway Hotel website at www.inishowengateway.com, Mac’s Newsagents in Buncrana, Tourish’s Filling Station in Burnfoot, and Brogan’s Shop in St Johnston. They can also be purchased by contacting Eimear on 087 773 1647, Thomas on 086 377 3069, or Fabian on 087 643 0546.
