A charity Buncrana concert headlined by Onóir has raised €19,350 in support of two Donegal families.

The fundraising event took place at the Inishowen Gateway Hotel on Saturday, March 28, drawing a large crowd for what organisers described as a memorable and emotional evening.

The popular folk and ballad group, known for selling out shows across Ireland, Britain and the United States, delivered a special performance in aid of toddler Daibhin Curran and the McCrossan family, both from St Johnston.

Attendees were treated to a night of music that combined lively entertainment with a strong sense of community spirit.

The successful fundraiser was organised by Thomas Strain, Eimear Strain (above), and a dedicated team of volunteers.

Speaking after the event, Thomas confirmed the total amount raised and expressed gratitude to all who supported the initiative.

He thanked the venue, local contributors, and especially Onóir for giving their time and talent to the cause, describing it as “a very special night of music for two beautiful families.”

A spokesperson for Onóir also praised the organisers, highlighting the significant effort involved in coordinating the event.

They described the total raised as “staggering” and said it was a pleasure to be part of such a significant occasion.

Proceeds from the concert will go directly towards supporting the two families, providing much-needed assistance during challenging times.
