The new festival will be held at Buncrana's Shorefront in June, with all welcome.
Buncrana’s Children’s Charity is delighted to announce its Children’s Summer Festival, a vibrant and exciting event taking place on Saturday, 20th June at the Buncrana Shore Front, as part of the charity’s 10th anniversary celebrations.
Marking a decade of supporting children and families across Inishowen, the charity wanted to create something truly special for the community.
“As part of our 10th anniversary celebrations, we really wanted to do something to put big smiles on our children’s faces in Inishowen. What better way than to throw a huge children’s festival on Buncrana Shorefront!” said Adrian McMyler, Chairperson of Buncrana’s Children’s Charity.
This free-entry event promises a fun-filled afternoon for families, featuring bouncy castles, games, art, sports, competitions, music and dancing, alongside a wide range of exhibitions from local businesses and performances from talented local groups.
A full itinerary of entertainment will ensure there is something for everyone to enjoy throughout the day.
Festival Coordinator Sharon McLaughlin highlighted the scale and excitement of the event.
“This festival is all about community, fun, and celebrating the incredible support we’ve received over the past 10 years. We’ve worked hard to create a lively, engaging programme with something for children of all ages. It’s shaping up to be a fantastic day on the shore front.”
Behind the scenes, a dedicated youth team has been working tirelessly to help bring the event to life. Caitlin Crossan, Youth Committee Coordinator, spoke on behalf of the group.
“The youth committee is so proud to be involved in organising this festival. It’s amazing to be part of something that brings so much joy to local children and families. We’ve all put in a lot of effort behind the scenes, and we can’t wait to see everyone enjoying the day.”

Amanda Nelson, PRO, encouraged the public to stay connected in the lead-up to the event.
“We’ll be sharing the full itinerary, performance times, and exciting updates across our social media channels and online platforms in the coming weeks. We encourage everyone to keep an eye out so they can plan their day and make the most of everything on offer.”
Amanda also noted the importance of the event from a publicity and community perspective.
“This festival is a key part of highlighting our 10-year journey and celebrating the impact the charity has had across Inishowen. It’s a wonderful opportunity to showcase the work we do, the support we’ve received, and the strong community spirit that has helped us reach this milestone.”
With strong support from 10th anniversary sponsors and businesses, the Children’s Summer Festival is set to be a highlight of the summer calendar in Inishowen.
The charity warmly invites all families across the region to come along, join the celebrations, and make lasting memories together.
“It will be a great fun day out for all the family, and we hope everyone can come celebrate with us on the day.”
