Tributes have been paid to the young woman who was tragically killed at Ludden in Buncrana in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The victim has been named locally as Rebecca Browne who was from Derry, who was staying in Buncrana with friends.

Rena Donaghey, Fianna Fáil, councillor said: “Our sincere sympathy goes out to all of her entire family. It’s an awful shock and an awful tragedy and may God grant them all they need at this time.”

“There is an awful amount of sadness today in Galliagh,” posted SDLP Group Leader Councillor Brian Tierney. “My thoughts are with the Smith and Browne families as they try to come to terms with the sad loss of Rebecca. Those who think of them today, a little prayer to Jesus say.”
