A family whose caravan was stolen late last week have said they are “devastated.”

Gardaí said they are investigating the theft from the rear of a house in the Ballymacarry Lower area of Buncrana between 7:30pm on Thursday, September 7, and 8.30pm on Friday, September 8.

Updated details of the missing caravan were posted by Kate Flynn, from Buncrana, on facebook. She said: “Please share. [The caravan] had an electric picnic caravan ticket on the front window, and a handle missing on the back. A blue van was seen towing it away at 3:30am, Burnfoot.”

The caravan in question is an Adria Adora 532 and it is white in colour with blue wave patterns.

“We appeal to anybody who believes that they may have seen this caravan in transit to contact Gardaí,” a garda spokesperson said. “Should anybody have information in relation to the current location of the caravan or should anybody be offered a similar one for sale on a second hand basis we ask them to contact Gardaí in Buncrana on 074-9320540. The Garda Confidential line may be contacted on 1800 666 111.”
