Lorry driver arrested for dangerous driving having clocked 135kph

Gardai in Buncrana have issued a stern pre-Christmas warning having clocked an articulated lorry travelling at 135kph.

“Buncrana Roads Policing Unit detected a fully laden articulated lorry being driven at 115kph while limited to 80kph overnight,” they said. “The driver was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and proceedings have commenced.

“We do not want any family to have an empty seat at their Christmas dinner table this year because of a reckless decision made on the roads. Don't let the road safety message in one ear and out the other. Take it on board and save lives. Slow down.”
