Gardaí in Buncrana are appealing to anyone who travelled in the area n the early hours of Friday, February 9 and who may have observed any suspicious activity, especially a named jeep, to make contact
Gardaí are appealing after three separate criminal damage incidents of the same nature took place late at night in Carndonagh
The three reported incidents occurred on Friday, February 9 between 12:55am and 2am and gardaí are seeking information on a jeep that was in the vicinity.
At the Tul Na Rí area of Carndonagh, the resident of a house woke to the sound of a vehicle engine outside. Eggs were then thrown at the bedroom window and three male youths, aged 15 to 18 were captured on CCTV, outside the house in question. Eggs had also been thrown at the windows and walls of the property.
On the same date, a resident at Donagh Park, Carndonagh heard his dog barking and when he looked out he saw several male youths beside his car. They left when they were observed. The resident then discovered eggs and other foodstuff on his doorstep and his car, at roughly 1:50am.
Again, on the same date, a resident at Drimdoo, Foden, Carndonagh heard a bang at her downstairs bedroom window. Upon further inspection, she discovered that eggs had been thrown at the window, at 2am.
“We appeal to anybody who travelled in any of the above areas or within the general Carndonagh area in the early hours of Friday, February 9 and who may have observed any suspicious activity/vehicles to make contact with gardaí,” Garda Niall Maguire said.
“We are particularly interested in any sightings or dash cam footage of a blue/silver jeep in the area. These types of incidents can be particularly frightening for anybody who lives alone even though the damage caused is not substantial.
“We are eager to progress our investigation into these matters and so we appeal to anybody who can assist with relevant information to make contact with Gardaí in Buncrana on 074-9320540. The Garda Confidential line may also be contacted on 1800 666 111.”
