Carndonagh Gardaí will continue to monitor disabled bays in the town to ensure that they are kept free for those who need them
An uninsured driver who parked in a disabled spot without a permit has received a fine and summons, as well as having the car seized.
Carndonagh Gardaí observed a car parked in a disabled bay and there was no disabled parking permit on display on St Patrick’s Day.
Gardaí stopped to speak with the driver and it transpired that the driver did not have a disabled parking permit nor did they have insurance. The car was seized. The driver will now receive a fine and a court summons. Carndonagh Gardaí will continue to monitor disabled bays in the town to ensure that they are kept free for those who need them.
“Should you be detected parked/stopped in a disabled parking bay and you do not hold a valid permit to be there, you will be liable to pay a fixed charge penalty notice of €150,” gardaí warned. "Please think before you park and have consideration for the needs of others.”
